As you can see, The Animation Curriculum’s logo is a larger circle, made up of seven, smaller, connecting circles. These seven smaller circles represent the seven modules of the curriculum and the path students follow to complete the curriculum. You can follow the path of the lines in any direction, perhaps even completing some of these smaller circles more than once, in order to form the larger circle which represents the curriculum as a whole and the experiential learning journey of the student. Basically, nothing in this learning journey is linear and there is no right or wrong direction to take, everyone has a different journey to completion.
Like those smaller circles, each of the seven modules of the curriculum can stand alone and be whole, addressing a smaller gap in the learning journey. However, when completed together, each of these seven circles joins to form something much larger and stronger, holding a greater presence within a students learning journey and strengthening any learning that has taken place.
As a designer, I like the shape. The intersection between an intricate, complex shape of lines angles and directions, and the simplicity of seven circles sitting atop a larger circle.
It doesn’t state anything immediately obvious regarding the purpose or specialism of this programme. It has no connections to education, animation, FASD or other disabilities. But it is a representation of the curriculum and all it has to offer in the endless number of ways in which it can be applied in any context.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the logo!
Have a great day,
Jessica
